  • Are there any lessons you've picked up from cooking that you think can be applied to the work you do?
Shari: Improvise and be flexible. Sometimes things don't always end up the way intended but often you end up in a place that is just as good if not better. This includes swapping ingredients if you are out of something.

  • Do you have any memories attached to this recipe? / What does this meal remind you of?
Shari: A few years ago my husband and I celebrated a big wedding anniversary with a trip to Italy. While there we were introduced to limoncello - it seemed that after every dinner a complimentary glass of limoncello was served. So delicious and the perfect way to end an evening! This gives me such a warm feeling and is such a happy memory.

  • What new recipes are you looking to try during this time?
Shari: I have so many saved recipes on a Pinterest board that I can't wait to try. We've already baked a version of Levain's Chocolate Chip Banana Bread (multiple times!), and made delicious salmon burgers using fresh salmon. Looking forward to making a healthy eggplant parm next!

  • What is your favorite meal of the day?
Shari: Brunch! What better excuse to eat cake for breakfast? 😉 Seriously though, My healthy fav is avocado toast with a fried egg, red pepper flakes and sea salt, or for a treat, french toast. There is a place around the corner from my apartment that has truly decadent French Toast. It’s not the healthiest dish (but the most delicious!) so it is reserved for special occasions only!

  • Is there a Yummie piece that makes you feel your best while cooking?
Shari: I can typically be found in the French Terry Jogger, whether cooking, WFH, or walking the dog. Sooo cozy! Yummie socks are also my go-to.
