Bite into something delectable with this mouthwatering take on a classic cheeseburger from Christina, our Graphic Designer and Content Coordinator

  • Are there any lessons you've picked up from cooking that you think can be applied to the work you do?
Christina: Presentation, presentation, presentation! Cooking is, of course, always about taste (at least to me) but it’s about presentation as well. Plating is where a chef can really get creative and showcase their work. In graphic design and social media, presentation goes hand in hand. You want your work to showcase what you are selling in the most creative and appealing way possible.

  • Do you have any memories attached to this recipe? / What does this meal remind you of?
Christina: Burgers remind me of BBQs and that’s something my family and I do often. Just hanging out together, eating, drinking and talking! To me, burgers are the perfect comfort food that you can remix with different toppings to make your own!

  • What new recipes are you looking to try during this time?
Christina: I love to cook and try new things! During this time I’ve been on a health kick so I’ve been doing a lot of cauliflower and broccoli based dishes that replace rice and pasta. It’s cool to see these two vegetables really take on any flavor you add to them. I’ve made a cauliflower/broccoli rice fajita bowl that came out so good and I want to try and make a broccoli cheesy bread— hold the bread!

  • What is your favorite meal of the day?
Christina: My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. I have to have it. I love omelets, bagels and obvs pancakes!

  • Is there a Yummie piece that makes you feel your best while cooking?
Christina: I’m constantly wearing the Baby French Terry Jogger. Its super comfortable and easy to throw on. I also really love our Yummie socks because of how soft and cozy they are!

Burger Ingredients:
  • Kobe beef (or any ground beef)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 slices of American cheese
  • 2 crispy pieces of bacon
  • 3-4 slices of fresh avocado
  • 1 tsp. mayo (or more if you'd like!)
  • Potato bun (toasted)

Slice and prepare all of your burger toppings. Set aside.

In a medium sauce pan cook your bacon strips to your liking. Set aside.

Preheat grill to medium heat. Shape the beef into a patty. Season the patty generously with salt and pepper. Grill your burger patty and cover for 3-5 min, each side on the grill for a medium rare burger. Add cheese in the last 1-2 minutes of grilling then cover with lid and cook until the cheese is melted.

Toast the potato bun on the grill or in the toaster oven until golden brown. You can toast the bun ahead or in the last couple of minutes with the burgers on the grill.

Put your burger together and enjoy!
