Intern Diaries: Week 5
During my 5th week at Yummie, we had our second lifestyle shoot. I was out sick for most of the week but somehow I made it to the shoot on Wednesday and I’m so glad I didn’t miss it!
I was super excited for this shoot. Lifestyle shoots tend to be a little bit more fun than e-commerce shoots because for ecomm we just shoot on a white background and you can get more out of one look. Our location was in a loft with so many cute scenes that really gave the vibe of being at home and like girl would live there. I got to shoot with my own camera, behind the photographer, for some behind the scenes photos which was really interesting as I saw what being a photographer really took.
Throughout the day, there was a lot of running back and forth to the office. Sometimes during shoots we need things we didn’t plan on needing. It was exciting because you didn't know what to expect and I was on my toes ready for whatever the day threw at me.
I also was able to take a video of the whole space and we used it for behind the scenes stories on Instagram. Check it out on our BTS story highlights!
All the looks we shot are from the upcoming Holiday 2018 and Spring 2019 collections. We got very lucky that it was such a beautiful day, we were able to shoot outside on the roof. The Empire State building was right behind us and was an amazing backdrop. It was a great contrast of shooting the feminine garments and the masculine cityscape. We then moved into the loft and shot in all corners of it. The kitchen was my favorite, the pictures came out so cute and playful.
I'm so happy I got to attend an amazing photoshoot day but that was the only day I made it through. However, I learned so much as to what goes into making a successful day happen and am so thankful i gained the experience. Hopefully next week I’ll have a lot more to share!
